Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of hotel facilities, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and public areas to identify and resolve maintenance needs. Perform complex repairs on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems while maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule and reporting progress. Respond immediately to work orders and guest complaints, ensuring all mechanical equipment, lighting, and signage remain in proper operating condition. Assist senior staff with larger projects and keep work areas, shops, and guest rooms neat and orderly. Maintain full compliance with fire safety regulations, hotel standards, and all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Two Years of Description Maintenance/engineering experience required in a hotel or related field
- An ability to work safely and confidently with unenergized circuits from 120V
- Proven organization and time management skills
- Guest-focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, and a self-starter
- Problem solver, self-motivated, able to learn more skills to serve guests and the company better
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions
- Multi-task oriented
- Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means
- Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene
- Able to work on varied schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
- Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
- Must be able to read, follow directions, and be flexible
- Must be able to speak and write in a language understood by the manager and/or supervisor
- Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management
- Ability to take directions from hotel and housekeeping management
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision
