Job Summary
Respond immediately to customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment and complete all work orders promptly. Maintain rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment in proper working condition by performing repairs for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and cosmetic needs. Troubleshoot manageable mechanical operations, including changing light bulbs, clearing drains, and repairing drywall or doors. Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor and maintain all work areas, shops, and guest rooms neat and orderly. Ensure compliance with fire and safety rules while providing courteous service to guests and staff.
Required Qualifications
- One Year of Description Maintenance/engineering experience preferred in a hotel or related field
- An ability to work safely and confidently with unenergized circuits from 120V
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management
- Ability to take directions from hotel and housekeeping management
- Proven organization and time management skills
- Guest-focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, and a self-starter
- Problem solver, self-motivated, able to learn more skills to serve guests and the company better
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions
- Multi-task oriented
- Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means
- Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene
- Able to work on varied schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
- Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
- Must be able to read, follow directions, and be flexible
- Must be able to speak and write in a language understood by the manager and/or supervisor
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision
