104 - Completions & Commissioning Manager (internal only)

Job Summary
Develop an integrated Systems Completion and Commissioning plan covering Converters, Cable System, and Network Integration, providing input into design and construction sequencing. Establish the systems breakdown structure, boundary definitions, packaging, and test criteria with the MLPL Engineering team and Contractors, then participate in or review Factory Acceptance Testing, Full Systems Testing, and other testing activities. Lead oversight and assurance of the Systems Completion Plan from Contractors and OEMs, ensuring seamless interface implementation. Collaborate with the H&S Team to develop permit-to-work and lock-out/tag-out systems for live testing, while mobilising MLPL resources to oversee Contractors' commissioning teams and generate a Handover Plan. Develop strategies for engaging market participants to enable energy flows for transmission system tests, and chair the Commissioning Panel comprising MLPL, main contractors, AEMO, and other TNSPs. Provide reporting on status, progress, risks, and mitigations to the Project Leadership Team and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience transitioning complex infrastructure from project phase to operations phase
- Demonstrated capability in asset management, operations readiness, commissioning and handover of complex electrical assets
- Demonstrated experience in completions and commissioning for transmission infrastructure
- Emphasis on electrical safety systems and processes
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Ability to build a high-performing team culture aligned to the One Marinus Culture Charter
- Knowledge of asset information management
- Knowledge of configuration control
- Knowledge of quality systems
- Knowledge of HAZOP/risk review processes
- Knowledge of cyber and physical security requirements relevant to critical infrastructure in Australia
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present technical positions clearly to senior leaders and project stakeholders
- Must be based in Melbourne, Hobart, Traralgon & Burnie
- Must be available for flexible hybrid working
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of NEM processes and systems
- Knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Rules (NER)
- Knowledge of Energy Safe Victoria
- Knowledge of Tasmanian CBOS Electricity Standards and Safety
- Knowledge of ISO 55001
