Job Summary
Conduct mission planning, vessel movements, and shipyard planning for the Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) team aboard a rotating sea-based platform. Coordinate flight test events, manage personnel and equipment for five payloads, and oversee 24/7 daily vessel operations. Establish contact with Combatant Commanders, USSPACECOM, and the Missile Defense Agency to integrate and de-conflict daily operations. Review test plans and procedures while briefing high-level DoD military and civilian personnel. Support theater-wide missile defense operations and space domain awareness architecture. Rotations range from 75-90 days on with 60 days off, requiring 100% travel and an active secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working in a Maritime environment
- Experience interacting with Combatant Commanders
- Experience briefing high level DoD Military and Civilian personnel
- Experience deconflicting schedules in a complex operating environment and many different organizations
- Excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team
- Ability to travel 75-100%
- US Citizenship
- Must have and maintain an active secret security clearance
- Must be able to pass and maintain the physical requirements of a modified maritime physical
- Must be able to balance, bend, lift up to 35 pounds, crouch, stretch, and kneel
- Must be able to climb up to 10 flights of stairs regularly
- Cannot be afraid of confined spaces
- Cannot be afraid of heights
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing in a deployed, remote work environment for extended periods of time
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field or HS diploma and a minimum of 10 years related experience
