Job Summary
Advocate for and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing. Administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans, and accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, and community outings. Safely evacuate individuals in emergencies and maintain certifications including CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration. Work flexible shifts including holidays and overnights while ensuring compliance with Agency policies and DDS regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
- Varied interests and personal connections in the local community
- Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history)
- Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team
- Must be 21+
- reliable transportation
- valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Employees must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above
- demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job
- Employee must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported
