Job Summary
Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification. Perform all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis, including airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analysis. Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for design improvement modifications and advanced technology implementation. Develop standards and guidelines including Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria or Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria, and oversee structural and corrosion repairs. Requires Master's or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with ten years of experience, five in DoD or USG ISR/SOF organizations. Master's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of two years' experience in the design, development, and integration of aircraft hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical systems
- two years of overseeing design and development of engineering projects
- experience in accomplishing airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analysis in support of systems integration
- Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification
- Perform in all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis
- Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for the design improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies
- Develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed including the generation of Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or the modification of such criteria in the Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC)
- Develop structural and corrosion repairs
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired)
- ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed
- five years of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations
- Bachelor's degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired)
- 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed
- five of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
