Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently. Responsibilities include building positive relationships, facilitating daily living activities (meal prep, hygiene, household tasks), supporting community participation and employment, using adaptive tools to aid learning and communication, promoting independence and skill development, monitoring health and safety, communicating with the Abound Health team and external parties, and completing documentation and scheduling. Flexible schedules (full-time and part-time), weekly pay, paid onboarding and training, and opportunities for advancement are offered. Must be at least 18, have a valid drivers license and insurance, be able to pass background checks, and be willing to address personal care needs when necessary. Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid drivers license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
- Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
- Lifting may be required
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required (paid training provided)
