Job Summary
Conduct rapid patient assessments and triage in the Emergency Department, prioritizing care based on illness severity and initiating life-saving interventions. Administer medications, perform procedures, and assist with emergency tasks including wound care, IV insertion, intubation, and CPR while continuously monitoring and reassessing patient conditions. Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to develop care plans, communicate effectively with patients and families, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, ensure compliance with hospital policies, and contribute to quality assurance activities. Serve as a patient advocate, provide education on conditions and treatments, and mentor less experienced nurses. Requires current unrestricted RN license in MO, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current, unrestricted RN license in MO
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Trauma advanced certifications (TNCC, ATCN)
- 1-2 years of nursing experience
- Strong clinical skills
- Critical thinking abilities
- Capacity to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or critical care setting
- Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications
