1 Full Time Prevention Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate monthly prevention planning calendars and schedule activities for youth and families in the Sandy Bay community. Facilitate community functions, including meetings, workshops, and public speaking, while booking venues and managing refreshments. Maintain accurate documentation of all programs and track ongoing prevention projects for the supervisor. Serve as a liaison between the organization and community resources to develop program cooperation. Evaluate assessment processes to identify prevention needs and ensure they meet community expectations. Manage monthly budgets for calendar activities and maintain contact with assigned youth with supervisor assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Social Services Diploma or a Child and Youth Care Diploma or equivalent from a recognized Post-Secondary Institute
- Grade 12 Diploma from a recognized Educational Institute
- 2 years of direct work experience working with Child Services
- strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Excellent work record/history
- valid Manitoba Drivers License
- access to a vehicle
- willingness to travel
- pass a Criminal Record Check
- Vulnerable Sector Search
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Knowledge and respect of First Nations traditional culture and traditional philosophy
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language
