Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) needed to care for two siblings (ages 13 and 15) with autism spectrum-related behavioral challenges in in-home and community settings. Responsibilities include facilitating social outings, supporting task completion and personal boundaries, monitoring gluten/sugar dietary needs, writing daily notes and quarterly progress reports, and coordinating with FRR Support Manager to ensure person-centered care. Schedule includes fall-spring summer care with Monday–Friday 9am–4pm plus additional shifts, and possible extension post-summer. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance if driving is needed, and be comfortable using technology to clock in/out and document progress. Prior experience with autism or similar behavioral challenges, strong communication, patience, and empathy required; CPR and MAR certification within weeks of hire; background check required. Bilingual abilities are helpful. This is an in-home care role with community outings and 1:2 care with a dedicated care plan and ISP progress tracking. Required Qualifications
- Pass a criminal background check
- Able to complete 6 hours of pre-start training (paid) and become CPR and MAR certified within a few weeks of hire
- Current Driver’s License and vehicle insurance (if client requires driving)
- Be willing to monitor and respond to messages/calls from FRR regarding important information and updates
- Be reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
- Ability to write daily notes and complete quarterly progress reports
- Experience with children on the autism spectrum or with similar behavioral challenges (preferred)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Patience and empathy for clients with disabilities
- Ability to adapt to varying situations during outings
- Bilingual in another language is helpful
- In-Home Care experience
- Familiarity with ADLs/IADLs (basic daily tasks)
- Scheduling capability and smartphone/computer literacy
