Job Summary
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Creighton, PA, you will provide hands-on in-home support to an adult male living with his family. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, hygiene), supporting safe eating, offering companionship through preferred activities, maintaining safety with hand-over-hand guidance, assisting with household tasks and routines, encouraging calm, predictable interactions, monitoring health and safety, communicating with the Abound Health team and family, and completing documentation and ongoing training. The role emphasizes patient, gentle care for someone with limited communication and total-care needs, with flexible full-time and part-time opportunities and paid onboarding/training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
- Comfortable providing total personal care
- Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and physical support
- Patience and comfort supporting someone who is nonverbal and communicates through behavior
