Job Summary
Art classroom teacher for 5th–8th grade under probationary term, responsible for delivering the curriculum, creating a positive learning environment, developing long- and short-range plans, implementing plans, assessing student progress, and handling administrative duties such as attendance and parent communication. Requires NYS Art teaching certificate and ability to motivate, collaborate with peers and supervisors, differentiate instruction, manage the classroom effectively, plan lessons aligned to Regents standards, and use technology to enhance learning. Demonstrates commitment to student-centered, cooperative teaching, effective communication with students, families, and staff, and willingness to work with special education colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- A valid New York State teaching certificate in Art
- Demonstrated successful classroom experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with peers and supervisors
- Ability to motivate and instruct students in developing problem solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Regents/Standards and ability to plan lessons for Regents level courses.
