Job Summary
Special Education Teacher in a Resource Room (1.0 FTE) for an 184-day year under Unit A. Responsible for modifying curricula for students eligible for special education, ensuring rights to participate in the general curriculum, implementing state and federal laws, developing and overseeing IEPs, supervising paraprofessionals, creating and adapting lesson plans, and delivering individualized and small-group instruction. Maintain behavior standards to support a positive learning environment, collect and report data on academic and social growth, communicate progress to parents, collaborate with other professionals to address health, attitude, and learning challenges, participate in curriculum development, administer standardized tests, and engage in district-provided professional development. Required: DESE certification in moderate disabilities; additional DESE certification in severe disabilities and related experience will be considered if pursuing the moderate license within the first year; Masters Degree in Special Education preferred; strong communication skills and technology proficiency. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds and visual requirements. Required Qualifications
