Job Summary
Develop and implement daily and long-range lesson plans aligned with state standards for whole group, small group, and individual experiences appropriate to each child. Teach district-approved curriculum using district-adopted instructional materials. Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and student participation. Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to implement school-wide initiatives. Evaluate children’s intellectual and social growth, maintain records, and assist in progress reports. Provide immediate and specific feedback to students and communicate with parents through home visits and conferences. Maintain professional competence through professional development and supervise students in assigned activities. Follow the Iowa Early Learning Standards and implement Creative Curriculum/Curriculum GOLD; may develop IEPs; conduct ongoing progress monitoring and instructional adjustments; collaborate with paraprofessionals to meet student needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching license and endorsement as required by the state with one of the following endorsements: 100: PK-3 Teacher, Regular Education/Special Education; 1001: PK-3 Birth through grade three, Inclusive Settings; 106: PK-3 Teacher, PK-3 Classroom; 103: PK-K Teacher, PreKindergarten-Kindergarten Classroom
