Job Summary
Preschool Teacher in Iowa City responsible for developing and implementing daily and long-range lesson plans aligned with state standards across whole group, small group, and individual experiences. Teach using district-approved materials, create a positive classroom environment, collaborate with teachers and support staff, evaluate children’s growth, maintain records, provide progress feedback, communicate with parents, and participate in professional development. May assist in supervising paraprofessionals; develop early childhood programming per the Iowa Quality Preschool Program Standards and implement Creative Curriculum and GOLD assessments; may develop IEPs and support students with special education needs; collaborate with paraprofessionals to meet student needs and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
- Valid Iowa teaching license and endorsement as required by the state with one of the following endorsements: 100: PK-3 Teacher, Regular Education/Special Education; 1001: PK-3 Birth through grade three, Inclusive Settings; 106: PK-3 Teacher, PK-3 Classroom; 103: PK-K Teacher, PreKindergarten-Kindergarten Classroom
