Job Summary
1.0 FTE Physical Education/Health Teacher responsible for developing and implementing daily and long-range lesson plans aligned to state standards, delivering district curriculum with approved instructional materials, fostering a positive classroom environment, collaborating with teachers and support staff on school-wide initiatives, evaluating students’ intellectual and social growth, providing timely feedback, communicating with parents, maintaining professional competence through district staff development, supervising students during the day, and fulfilling negotiated agreement terms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
- Valid Iowa teaching license and endorsement as required by the state
- K-8 Health - 137 or 5-12 Health - 138
- K-8 Physical Education - 146 or 5-12 Physical Education - 147
- A minimum of 186 contract days; salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a K-12 education system preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable
