Job Summary
Assess and evaluate students' health status, provide primary and emergency care, and administer medication per school policies. Maintain cumulative health records, coordinate vision and hearing screenings, and develop individual care plans for anaphylaxis, asthma, and 504 needs. Prevent disease spread through inspection and exclusion procedures while promoting a safe on-site environment. Serve on child protection teams, incident management committees, and staffing meetings to advocate for children. Confirm sports eligibility and manage transportation under physician designation. Complete continuing education for recertification and maintain health room statistics for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current Massachusetts Registration in Nursing
- Department of Secondary and Elementary Education Certified
- Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
Desired Qualifications
- School nursing experience preferred
- Experience working with children of all abilities preferred
