Job Summary
Utilize the transportation management system to coordinate inbound, outbound, direct-ship, and backhaul shipments, ensuring all loads are tendered timely to meet purchase and sales order delivery requirements. Resolve order confirmation issues and escalate when necessary, while coordinating with Purchasing, Operations, and accounting teams to manage purchase order creation, changes, receipt, and settlement. Monitor routing locations, carrier rates, and vendor allowances to maintain data integrity and analyze shipping methods, lanes, and backhaul capabilities to optimize costs and service levels. Negotiate rates and service commitments with carriers, audit invoices for TMS carrier billing, and generate metrics reports for management.
Required Qualifications
- Prior Logistics and Dispatch work experience, minimum 2-5 years
- Must have basic knowledge concerning Supply Chain and Logistics
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from accredited college or university
- Organized, detailed and result oriented, able to take on additional responsibilities
- Time and project management skills
- Self-starter, takes initiative, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret key performance indictors (KPI) reports and technical data spreadsheets
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to calculate rebates, cost-savings, and cost of goods sold, etc., using concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Must have basic computer experience with Windows, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as internet applications
