Job Summary
Determine customer color and care needs, offer professional advice, and recommend products to ensure clients have the knowledge required to meet their needs. Provide color and curl/texture consulting services to professional beauty salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed cosmetologists. Communicate upward and cross-functionally regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, and follow-up plans. Maintain high standards of merchandising, placement, and store signage to ensure brand guidelines are met. Resolve customer concerns and questions in a timely, appropriate, and effective manner. Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly, including bank deposits and cash handling. Stay informed regarding emerging trends and adapt personal sales techniques in response to market changes. Pass the Color Certification Test within 60 days of hire to remain in position.
Required Qualifications
- One year retail or other sales -focused experience
- Reliable transportation to effectively service designated store and market
- Ability to travel to shows and/or sales meetings a minimum of 3 times a year
- Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
- Must pass Color Certification Test within 60 days of hire to remain in position
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed cosmetologist highly preferred in US and Canada
- Working knowledge of retail sales, inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of computers, ipads, mobile devices and social media platforms
- Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to present a professional image and interact positively with the public
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, at all levels within and outside the organization
