Job Summary

Teaching the Indigenous Social Work course INSW 411 S90 with varied delivery formats (Online/Web, On-Site, Hybrid, Hyflex, Remote) for Fall 2026; duties include delivering course content, facilitating class discussions, assigning grades, preparing outlines and exams, providing academic counselling, invigilating and grading mid-term and final exams, supporting students with homework and exam prep, and consulting with Department Heads per Collective Agreement. Requires a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of post-secondary teaching experience; cross-cultural experience and First Nations language ability are assets. The role is part of the SASM Collective Bargaining Unit and is paid hourly as a Sessional Instructor.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree with at least 5 years work experience
  • Relevant experience teaching in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be asset
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivator with attention to detail and academic reporting requirements
  • Experience working in cross-cultural environment; ability to speak a First Nations language considered assets
