Job Summary
Sessional Instructor for INDG 232 delivering cross-listed sections with delivery options including video conference, on-site, hybrid, Hyflex, and remote learning. Responsibilities include teaching course content within university guidelines, monitoring and facilitating class discussions, assigning grades, preparing course outlines and final exams, providing academic counselling to students, invigilating and grading mid-term and final exams, supporting students with homework and exam preparation, consulting with Department Heads on academic or student matters, and performing related duties under the Collective Agreement. Requires Master’s degree with significant post-secondary teaching experience, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment; experience with First Nations language skills are considered assets.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 5 years work experience
- Relevant experience in teaching students in a post-secondary environment
- Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and comply with academic reporting requirements
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and the ability to speak a First Nations language are considered assets
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset
