Job Summary
Teach Indigenous Education: Principles and Practices in Elementary Teaching as an on-site university course. Responsibilities include delivering course content within academic guidelines, facilitating and moderating class discussions, assigning grades, preparing outlines and exams, providing academic counseling and student support, invigilating and grading exams and papers, and consulting with Department Heads. The role requires collaboration within a unionized collective agreement setting and involves delivering the course through on-site, hybrid, Hyflex, remote, and other delivery methods as described. A Master’s degree and post-secondary teaching experience are required, with assets for remedial language teaching and cross-cultural competencies including First Nations language proficiency. Location is Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, with on-site delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 5 years work experience
- Relevant experience in teaching students in a post-secondary environment
- Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and comply with academic reporting requirements
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and the ability to speak a First Nations language are considered assets
