Job Summary
Teaching the course content within university academic guidelines; monitoring and facilitating class discussion forums and assigning grades; preparing course outlines and final exams; providing academic counselling; invigilating and grading mid-terms and finals; supporting students with homework and exam preparation; consulting with Department Heads on academic matters; duties aligned with the Collective Agreement for a unionized SASE/SASM Lab Instructor role; on-site delivery with various delivery methods (on-site, hybrid, Hyflex, remote options described) for Indigenous Education: Principles and Practices in Elementary Teaching lab course. The role requires a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of post-secondary teaching experience, strong communication skills, attention to detail, independence, and cross-cultural experience. Salary is hourly with defined wage levels under the SASM Collective Bargaining Unit and the posting notes application deadlines and online submission.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 5 years work experience
- Relevant experience in teaching students in a post-secondary environment
- Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset
