Job Summary
Teaching DENE 100 courses for Fall 2026 under the SASM Collective Bargaining Unit. Responsibilities include delivering course content within university guidelines, facilitating and moderating class discussions, and assigning grades; preparing course outlines and final exams; providing academic counselling to students; invigilating, grading, and submitting mid-term and final exams and papers; supporting students with homework and exam preparation; consulting with Department Heads on academic or student-related matters; and performing other duties per the collective agreement. Courses are delivered via Remote (Zoom), with various delivery methods including on-site, Hyflex, and remote options. Required qualifications include a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of post-secondary teaching experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cross-culturally; experience with remedial language teaching is an asset. This position is part of the SASM Collective Bargaining Unit and paid as hourly stipends per session.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 5 years work experience
- Relevant experience in teaching students in a post-secondary environment
- Experience with remedial language teaching skills would be considered an asset
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and comply with academic reporting requirements
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and the ability to speak a First Nations language are considered assets
