05 - Welder 2

Welder 2 position performs welding per defined procedures with independence to select methods for varying tasks. Responsibilities include adhering to welding procedures, maintaining dimensional tolerances from drawings, ensuring product quality, and working with SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW. Tasks include laying out, fitting and welding weldments with or without fixturing, handling heavy materials with overhead cranes, and ensuring all welding is documented per quality control policies with traceability. Maintains equipment, adheres to safety practices, and reports unsafe conditions. Requires ability to communicate with team members and potentially lead the team to high-quality production within tight deadlines. Must possess site-defined welding certifications as well as relevant experience; typical education includes high school diploma plus additional courses or equivalent experience.
