Job Summary
Incumbents may determine best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are very complex with significant judgment and initiative. Works under minimal supervision and may provide guidance to others. Reads and analyzes schematic diagrams and circuit descriptions; troubleshoots and repairs failed products; inspects for quality; sets up and operates test sets; verifies tests; maintains maintenance records; assists with preventive maintenance and inventory of spare parts; collaborates with engineers on testing, debugging, and design verification of new prototypes; handles documentation and BOM-related information. Requires experience with electrical/electromechanical systems, schematics, test equipment, and strong quality standards; capable of reading mechanical drawings and product specifications and performing complex testing and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two to Four years relevant experience
- Two or three year community college diploma in a related field
- Engineering Foundation Competencies
- Knowledge of electrical, electromechanical and pneumatic systems
- Strong knowledge of setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment sets
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication procedures
- Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and testing and debugging procedures
- Knowledge of computer programming and ability to use applications (e.g., C++)
- Ability to read product specifications, schematics and mechanical drawings
- Ability to use hand and power tools for test assembly
- Knowledge of PCs and Windows applications
- Excellent knowledge of quality standards
- Effective communication with internal customers
