Direct and supervise all meat department activities to achieve sales, profit, and customer service goals. Select and train new team members, schedule personnel, and execute merchandising programs across fresh, processed, and packaged meat and cheese sections. Produce product by cutting and packaging items, while ordering supplies, auditing deliveries, and maintaining proper shelf stock levels. Create department budgets, track financial reports, and control labor, inventory, shrink, and out-of-stock situations. Ensure compliance with health and weights and measures requirements, maintain safety equipment, and serve as a role model and coach. Achieve department sales and profit targets while managing product out-of-stocks.
