Job Summary
Conduct unarmed security patrols, escort individuals to parking lots, and assist with unlocking cars and jump starts. Perform buddy clock rounds, dispatch guards for various duties, and stop, question, and detain individuals with suspicious behavior. Respond to emergencies requiring unplanned strenuous physical activity, climb stairs, and use site-issued handguns and handcuffs. Work extended hours alone in adverse weather while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Schedule includes extended shifts; full benefits package with weekly pay, insurance, and training opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- Must Meet the State of South Carolina requirements for an unarmed private security officer
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive SLED background check
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Pass the following post-offer/pre-employment testing in accordance with assigned site requirements/regulations
- Work extended hours
- Work alone while unarmed
- Work and perform under stress
- Work in adverse weather
- Provide armed escorts
- Stop, question, and detain individuals with suspicious behavior
- Respond to emergencies with unplanned strenuous physical activity
- Climb stairs
- Sit or stand during your entire shift
- Be able to bend, squat, push, pull and lift 25 pounds for your entire shift
- Use site issued handgun with dominant and non-dominant hand
- Use handcuffs
- Ability to function in emergencies and unusual environments
- Must be willing to wear all required PPE
- Must adhere to all safety protocols
- Mental alertness and emotional stability
- Acuity of senses; ability of expression to allow rapid, accurate communication by spoken, written, audible, visible, or tactile signals
- Physique, stamina, motor power, range of motion and dexterity to allow safe execution of duties
- No use of medications that while the individual is working causes incapacitate, alter mental status, judgment or decrease physical or mental response times
- Medical evidence that the condition is controlled with proper medication and/or treatment and/or reasonable accommodations (if applicable)
- Letter of clearance from personal physician attesting that the candidate can perform the essential elements of the job (if applicable)
- Work in a school environment
- Follow specific orders
