Job Summary
HAZMAT Specialist responsible for safe storage and handling of hazardous materials in compliance with regulatory standards, developing and implementing procedures for containment, labeling, and segregation; inspecting facilities; tracking inventory and coordinating hazardous waste disposal; conducting risk assessments and training personnel on safety and emergency response; travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites and collaboration with government stakeholders to meet DoD objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 3-10 years experience in hazardous materials management or related field
- Ability to manage safe storage and handling of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations
- Experience inspecting storage facilities and ensuring labeling, containment, and segregation requirements
- Proven ability to track hazardous materials and maintain accurate documentation
- Experience coordinating with disposal teams for hazardous waste transport
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions
- Experience training personnel in safe handling, storage, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to coordinate with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required
- Journeyman-level expertise in related functional role
